2017 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet: the First of its Kind

During the Geneva Auto Show, Mercedes-Benz unveiled a unique convertible, the 2017 C-Class Cabriolet. For the first time in the C-Class family, this new model features high-quality details, with a distinctive design when the top is down. As the new entry-level model into the cabriolet world of Mercedes-Benz, the C300 Cabriolet will be offered with both rear-wheel-drive and 4MATIC drivetrains. An AMG version is also planned.
A Drive You Won't Soon Forget
Under the hood, a powerful four cylinder engine with 241 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque will drive the wheels with a brand-new state-of-the-art 9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic transmission. The sportier AMG C43 version will be outfitted with a powerful six cylinder engine boasting an impressive 362 hp and 384 lb-ft of torque. Standard on all C-Class Cabriolets, the DYNAMIC SELECT switch that allows the driver to customize the vehicle settings to suit his or her driving style. The different modes are: "ECO," "Comfort," "Sport," "Sport Plus" and "Individual. The suspension on the Cabriolet is 0.6-inches lower than the sedan and offers an outstanding ride with great handling capabilities. The sport suspension, included with the Sport Package on the C300 RWD and 4MATIC, has firmer springing and damping while the AMG RIDE CONTROL on the C43 Cabriolet variant offers three-stage adjustable damping and several racing inspired suspension components.
Inside, the cabriolet comes standard with AIRSCARF neck-level heating and optionally available AIRCAP automatic draft stop system so buyers can enjoy their cabriolet all year. Based on the Coupe, the sport seats feature muscular side bolsters and a superior level of comfort. On the infotainment side, the commands are intuitive and the animations impressive. For music lovers, the Frontbass offers the best sound quality by using the space within the cross-member and side member in the body structure as a resonance chamber for the bass speakers. The optionally available COMMAND Online system provides not only a larger display of 8.4" and a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels, but offers hard-drive navigation, integral WiFi hotspot functionality and LINGUATRONIC voice control as well as many other features. Buyers opting for the Sport Package get exclusive elements, including a multifunction sports steering wheel with flattened bottom section as well as AMG sports pedals.
When Style Matches Substance
On the exterior, the C-Class Cabriolet is stunning, with dimensions identical to the Coupe. Standard LED headlamps and flat LED tail lights are offered on both variants. The AMG version offers an even sportier look with a distinct AMG design and specific light-alloy wheels.
