2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA vs. 2021 Audi Q3: The Best of Everything
February 22 2021,

The new second-generation GLA is designed around you--the driver--who wants more sport without sacrificing versatility in a compact SUV. With several powertrain options and a palette of grades, buyers have many choices to fit their equipment needs and driving lifestyles.
The emerging success of the GLA is not without competition. Here, we compare it to the Audi Q3 to help you understand a few of the GLA's strengths in the segment.
The 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA has a performance edge
For 2021, the GLA includes several models that offer premium features. The lineup starts with the GLA 250, which features a turbo 2.0-litre four-cylinder that generates a robust 221 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The less nimble Audi Q3 includes either a 184-horsepower or 221-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder. Even though the Q3 has an engine equivalent in horsepower and torque to the GLA 250, the Q3's 0-100 km/h acceleration of 7.0 seconds is no match for the GLA 250's time of 6.7 seconds.
Next up is the AMG GLA 35, which increases performance to 302 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque and provides AMG-Enhanced feature to supply drivers with an even more dynamic drive.
And to top it off, the AMG GLA 45 releases a whopping 382 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque thanks to its handcrafted AMG turbocharged engine.
The Audi Q3 doesn’t have a high-performance model that can compete with AMG state-of-the-art engineering at this point in time, giving the GLA the upper hand in terms of performance in this comparison.
The 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA has more space and tech
Each GLA features Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX), a new generation of technology that uses artificial intelligence to build better connections between occupants and the vehicle. Using voice and touchscreen commands, MBUX changes settings and makes other adjustments throughout the vehicle. The system is also available with one of the most advanced navigation systems in the consumer marketplace, making the GLA much more technologically advanced than the Q3.
The GLA also provides more cargo space, with a total of 1,430 litres of total available cargo space compared to 1,359 litres with the Q3.
