2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 4Matic to start at $144,200
September 29 2021,
The all-new 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 4Matic, the all-new premium electrified Mercedes-EQ vehicle, will start at $144,200 in Canada, a slight premium over the Mercedes-Benz S Class. The new EQS is fully electric, but more than that it is poised to be the most luxurious, advanced, and capable Mercedes-Benz vehicle ever produced. That’s saying something.
The new EQS is powered by a 516-horsepower electric powertrain and offers a range of 700 kilometres on the WLTP circuit. The EPA numbers should come in shortly and will likely put the EQS in the 500-kilometre range for North America. In other words, Mercedes-EQ’s new flagship sedan should rival Tesla for range, and outperform the Taycan and the Audi e-tron GT.
That said, the Mercedes-Benz EQS is in a league of its own when it comes to refinement and luxury. No other current EV on the market will rival its combination of comfort, performance, and advanced technology.
The cockpit is dominated by a 56-inch curved glass surface and the latest generation of MBUX with a new zero-layer interface, ensuring easy and logical access to the car’s multiple functions. The new EQS also delivers on safety with the full suite of active and passive Driver Assistance Systems standard such as PRE-SAFE, special deformation zones, and Impulse Side technology that can protect occupants in the event of a side collision.
The EQS also features the shortest turning radius for a vehicle of this size, and the lowest drag coefficient ever for a modern production car.
