Mercedes-Benz Pulls Out All the Stops for 2025 EQS Flagship EV: Increased Range and Visual Revamp
April 17 2024,
Mercedes-Benz is going all-in with a comprehensive refresh of its EQS all-electric flagship sedan for the 2025 model year. Headlining the updates is a new larger 118 kWh battery pack promising improved driving range thanks to its greater usable capacity. Complementing this is enhanced regenerative braking software to maximize energy recuperation when decelerating.
Up front, the EQS receives a redesigned fascia highlighted by a blacked-out grille with flush-mounted chrome accents for a striking contrast. Adding an iconic Mercedes touch is a new standing star on the hood, while the AMG Line aerodynamic body styling becomes standard equipment.
Lavish Rear Accommodations
For rear-seat passengers, the 2025 EQS brings elevated luxury and comfort. Models specified with the optional Pinnacle Trim and Executive Interior package gain the ability to fold the front passenger seat forward for extra legroom. The rear seatbacks gain wider recline up to 38 degrees, along with rapid seat heating, neck/shoulder warmers, and pneumatic cushion depth adjustability.
However, even standard rear seats see notable enhancements like improved seat back recline up to 36 degrees, plusher foam padding, and a layered design for better individualized comfort. Upscale details like contrast stitching and Nappa leather piping adorn the rear quarters as well.
Advanced Technology and Efficiency
The ultra-wide MBUX Hyperscreen spanning nearly 56 inches across becomes standard equipment, merging three displays seamlessly under a curved glass panel. A heat pump system helps maximize range by utilizing waste heat, while 4MATIC models can decouple the front electric motor when not needed via the Disconnect Unit.
Other clever tech includes a brake dust clearing function, over-the-air updates enabling new features like Dolby Atmos audio, and ease of access through KEYLESS-GO with shareable Digital Vehicle Keys.
The revamped 2025 Mercedes-Benz EQS sedan series is expected to arrive at Canadian retailers late in 2024, with full model details and specs to be confirmed closer to launch.
As Mercedes forges ahead in electric luxury, the 2025 EQS demonstrates its commitment to continuously evolving its EV lineup through rapid innovation cycles.
