The Canadian Black Book is the definitive resource for calculating depreciation, resale value, and retained value. The Best Retained Value awards have been handed out for the last 15 years now, and measure the vehicles that keep the highest percentage of their original value.
Mercedes-Benz had five vehicles rank in the awards, more than any other luxury automaker. BMW had one while Audi had one as well. Lexus had three.
The most impressive winner for Mercedes-Benz was undoubtedly the C-Class which finished first in the overall luxury car category. Just ahead of the… Mercedes-Benz E-Class which finished second. The Mercedes-Benz GLE was the best mid-size luxury SUV for retained value, and finished second among all luxury sport utility vehicles.
As for Mercedes-Benz commercial vans, both the Metris and the Sprinter were among the best with the Sprinter winning the Best Retained Value award in the full-size commercial van segment. The Metris finished second in the compact commercial van segment.
