The best-selling model series in the history of Mercedes-Benz receives a comprehensive update for 2020. This includes new automotive intelligence that delivers a more convenient, safer, and dynamic driving experience. Available in four sedan trims (plus wagons), the model lineup includes E 350, E 450, AMG E 53, and AMG E 63.
Wide-ranging power in the 2020 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
The E-Class focuses on the electrification of the drivetrain with ISG (Integrated Starter Generators) and advanced 48-volt electrical system in 450 models. The series features four different power options across four trim levels, including AMG editions.
The E 350 4MATIC Sedan includes a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 255 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. It achieves the most efficient fuel consumption of all models at 11.2/8.3 L/100 km (city/highway). The E 450 4MATIC Sedan upgrades to a 3.0L twin turbo six-cylinder with 362 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque.
The AMG-level E-Class includes two sedan models with exhilarating performance. The AMGE E 53 AMATIC features a 3.0L turbo six-cylinder with EQ Boost. At the heart of the AMG E 53 4MATIC is a 3.0L turbo six-cylinder with EQ Boost and electric auxiliary compressor helps it attain 429 horsepower with 384 lb-ft of torque. This results in an acceleration of 0-100 km/h in 4.4 seconds. The AMG E 63 S 4MATIC features a handcrafted AMG 4.0L twin turbo eight-cylinder that develops 603 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque.
Comfort and advancements in the 2020 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Sedan
The E-Class, built with driver and passenger comfort in mind, features up to 1,062 mm of front headroom, 1,062 mm of front leg room, and up to 1,450 mm of rear shoulder room.
The interior also includes advanced technologies, featuring two digital 12.3" displays, MBUX with LINGUATRONIC voice control and navigation, standard energizing seat kinetics, optional MBUX Interior Assistant, and optional energizing comfort control with ENERGIZING COACH.
The E-Class features a suite of next-generation driver assistance systems that open new frontiers of protection, including a steering wheel with capacitive hands-off detection, Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC with route-based speed adjustment, and Enhanced Active Parking Assist with newly expanded side view and automatic parking not only in parallel and end-on parking spaces, but also on marked areas.
