The new 2023 Mercedes-EQ EQE SUV and Mercedes-AMG EQE 4MATIC+ SUV introduced
October 17 2022,
Mercedes-Benz is bringing two new electric sport utility vehicles to the market early next year and both models were introduced yesterday. The brand-new 2023 Mercedes-EQ EQE SUV and 2023 Mercedes-AMG EQE 4Matic+ SUV were unveiled in three total versions that will be arriving in dealerships next March. The arrival of the new EQE SUV follows the introduction of the EQS SUV last year while the new Mercedes-AMG EQE 4Matic+ SUV is the first ever electric SUV from AMG.
The new Mercedes-EQ EQE SUV and Mercedes-AMG EQE 4Matic+ SUV are smaller than the EQS SUV. Think of them as the electric version of a Mercedes-Benz GLE while the EQS SUV is equivalent to the GLS in the gas-powered Mercedes-Benz lineup. That means that the Mercedes-EQ EQE SUV and Mercedes-AMG EQE 4Matic+ SUV will be a bit smaller and a bit more accessible than the EQS SUV, but they will also offer a lot of luxury and a lot of interior space.
Three new 2023 Mercedes-EQ EQE SUV models
The base EQE 350 4Matic SUV model will offer 288 hp and 564 pound-feet of torque while the top-of-the-line EQE 500 4Matic SUV will offer 402 hp and 633 pound-feet of torque. Electric power will be generated by a 90.6-kWh battery which can charge at up to 170 kW. You can also charge the new Mercedes-EQ EQE SUV on a home charger at up to 22 kW.
Mercedes-Benz did not confirm the range of the new EQE SUV, but we expect that final range numbers will go from 425 km 475 km depending on the model and trim.
As for the first-ever electric AMG SUV, the new 2023 Mercedes-AMG EQE 4Matic+ SUV features many of the same components as the Mercedes-EQ EQE SUV, but power is pushed to a remarkable 677 hp while maximum torque is rated at 738 pound-feet. That means that the new EQE 4Matic+ SUV will reach 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds. That makes it quicker than the current GLE 63.
Inside, the design is very similar to what we find on the new EQS sedan, EQS SUV, and the new EQE sedan. The highlight of the interior is the Hyperscreen which stretches 141 cm from door-to-door and features three centre displays including the advanced MBUX infotainment system.
