The New Mercedes-AMG SL Taking Shape
July 29 2021,
The Mercedes-AMG SL will be all-new for 2022, incorporating the best Mercedes has to offer in terms of technologies, powertrains and overall driving experience. This unique luxury vehicle takes its roots from the original 300 SL Roadster. For the first time since the 1989 SL R 129, the car will have 2+2 seating which will make it much easier to bring family and friends on board your adventures.
Here’s what we know so far about this new Mercedes-AMG SL.
A first-class interior for the new Mercedes-AMG SL
Images of the interior of the vehicle have recently emerged, and the world can now see how technologically advanced and comfortable this interior is set to be. This impressive, driver-focused cabin deploys luxury materials, upscale textures and an adjustable centre-screen display. Seat upholstery choices will include refined materials like diamond-stitched leather and leather and microfibre combination with contrasting stitches. Mercedes calls the new instrument cluster “hyperanalog,” with a 12.3-inch digital display integrated into a three-dimensional visor dash panel. A head-up display will be optional as well.
The 11.9-inch centre multimedia touchscreen dominates the dashboard, and it can be electrically adjusted into different positions for optimal viewing, and to reduce glare from sunlight when the roof is down. Four turbine-style air vents ensure optimal ventilation around this area, and the interior also features leather and metallic centre console with a similar design inside the doors.
Riveting driving dynamics in the new Mercedes-AMG SL
While details are still scarce about what engines will be elected for the Mercedes-AMG SL, rest assured that the lineup will be powered by Mercedes’s finest in terms of powerful and efficient powertrains.
As far as handling and dynamics go, we know that the lightweight bodyshell of the upcoming SL, which will be a combination of aluminum, steel, magnesium, and fibre composites will ensure maximum rigidity, but will also keep the weight down. This structure will have a torsional stiffness that's 18 percent more than the outgoing model.
The new Mercedes-AMG will be added to the lineup very soon and should be available at the beginning of next year. You can shop for your Mercedes online with us, our representatives are waiting for your call and can answer all your questions.
