Three Mercedes-Benz Technologies which are Useful in Winter
October 12 2022,
Mercedes-Benz vehicles are some of the most luxurious, comfortable, and safe vehicles on Canadian roads and this is also true when the temperature drops well below freezing due to a number of advanced technologies.
4Matic all-wheel drive
Every new Mercedes-Benz vehicle sold in Canada is equipped as standard with the competent 4Matic all-wheel drive system. This technology increases performance when the pavement is dry, but it also makes for a safer drive on snow and ice. By being able to quickly and smoothly transfer power between all four wheels at any time, this system gives Mercedes vehicles the ability to drive through deep snow and over large patches of ice without losing their stability or their grip. This gives the driver more confidence even when the road conditions deteriorate and it allows them to reach their destinations safely all winter long.
The Mercedes App with remote start
Mercedes-Benz vehicles all come standard with the Mercedes Me app that allows drivers to view and control many features of their vehicles via their smartphone. One of the capabilities of this app is to remote start the engine. This allows drivers to warm up the cabin of their vehicle for up to 10 minutes before they depart, which prevents them from ever having to step into a cold vehicle again. The app also displays the current temperature inside of the vehicle to help determine if remote starting is necessary.
The heated interior surfaces
In order to provide the ultimate in cold-weather comfort, a few Mercedes-Benz vehicles can be equipped with heated front and rear armrests. Comprising both the center armrests and those found in the doors, this technology literally surrounds each passenger with warmth. Combined with the heated front and rear seats as well as the heated steering wheel, this makes it so that everything the driver and passengers touch is warm and comfortable at all time.
