What we know so far about the impressive new Mercedes-EQ EQS SUV

There is a new electric vehicle on the way from Mercedes-Benz which will be unveiled on April 19. It will be a new flagship SUV, promising to deliver everything buyers want from a luxury sport utility vehicle including remarkable cargo space, and an impressive list of features and technologies, three rows of spacious seating for you and your family, and an overall luxurious driving experience worthy of a Mercedes-Benz flagship.
It will also deliver remarkable performance courtesy of its dual motor electric powertrain and massive 107.8 kWh battery. And if that wasn't enough, it will also offer great off-road performance.
Here is what we know so far about the all-new Mercedes-EQ EQS SUV. Mercedes did not offer many details, but they did give us a little bit of info.
The first thing we know is that it will be very luxurious. Mercedes released an image of the interior and what we can see is that the each EQS SUV will be heavily influenced by the EQS sedan. That means a remarkably refined interior with a large Hyperscreen display which will include all of the connectivity features of the EQS sedan. The EQS SUV should be a great place to spend a lot of time in and we expect the comfort level to be truly remarkable.
We also know that the all-new EQS SUV will share many of its powertrain components with the Mercedes-Benz EQS flagship sedan. That means it will feature a 107.8 kWh battery which should translate into over 500 km of range. The Mercedes-EQ EQS SUV will have 516 hp and 631 pound-feet of torque, and of course it will also offer all-wheel drive.
Mercedes-Benz has been putting the new EQS SUV through its paces and testing off-road capability as well. We therefore expect the new EQS SUV to be a very confident performer off the beaten path with all of the technology needed to go off-road with confidence.
Lastly, we know that it will be very spacious. You can think of the Mercedes-EQ EQS SUV as an electric Mercedes-Benz GLS. In other words, it will be the flagship in the Mercedes-Benz upcoming electric SUV lineup and it will therefore be the most spacious and most refined model.
