Benefits of the Mercedes-Benz Prepaid Maintenance Program
December 16 2020,
When you purchase a vehicle, whether new or used, you want total peace of mind. That's exactly what Mercedes-Benz offers you with its numerous coverage programs, but it offers even more with its prepaid maintenance programs. There are two types of prepaid maintenance programs.
First, you can use the Prepaid Maintenance program when you purchase or lease a new Mercedes-Benz vehicle. Basically, what it offers you, as its name suggests, is to pay in advance for the vehicle's service maintenance. Different plans are offered to meet your needs.
These can vary in length, but also in content, while you can pay for a different number of shop visits. The program also offers you flexibility, as the agreement may vary according to the number of kilometers you are used to driving on an annual basis.
The only eligibility criterion is that your interest in this plan must be expressed before the first prescribed visit is required.
And what benefit do you derive from a payment made in advance? Basically, you save up to 20% on the cost of services paid for as you visit. And different financing options are available, from lump sum payments to monthly payments integrated into your regular payments. And the benefits start at $22 per month.
In short, a solution is there to meet your needs. Just note that from one vehicle to another, there may be differences in the offer. The same is true when it comes to diesel engines, AMG vehicles or a V12 engine model. It doesn't matter, because here too, the plans are advantageous.
Then, as a second step, you can purchase the Select Prepaid Maintenance program for a pre-owned vehicle, or at least a model that has already undergone its first prescribed maintenance or has exceeded the 25,000 km mark. The main advantage here is that there are no unpleasant surprises. An amount is established for a certain number of visits and then you hit the road without any hassles.
In addition, this program is transferable, so if you buy the car from an individual who had purchased it, you are covered. You can also purchase this plan if your new model is coming to the end of its term, so that you can continue your coverage.
And here again, the anticipated savings are interesting, in the order of 30% compared to the regular fees that would be paid for each visit. And once again, flexibility is offered, with a wide range of options on the length, number of visits and mileage to be discussed at the time of the agreement.
In short, the question is not whether a plan is worthwhile, but which plan is best for you.
