Ottawa Auto Show : 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe
March 18 2016,
The sedan version of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class marked the beginning of a new time for Mercedes-Benz. Indeed, the car launched a new design language that found itself on the vast majority of new Mercedes-Benz models. Now, we get another version of the C-Class, the coupe model, which will probably be followed by a convertible variant at some point in the future.
Plenty of performance to go around in the 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe
The first two versions of the 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe are known as the C 300 and C 450 AMG. These two models will be joined in dealerships by the C 63 AMG and C 63 AMG S, two excessively powerful models that are sure to make even the most hardcore sports car enthusiast smile with excitement.
Every version of the 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe is assembled on the same platform, a structure that has grown in length and size since the previous generation in every direction, making the 2017 C-Class Coupe both more spacious and more stable.
That said, thanks to the use of high-strength steel and various aluminum parts, the car is about 50 kilos lighter than the previous generation Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe.
There are a lot of versions and a lot of models to choose from in the Mercedes-Benz C-Class range, and the Coupe variant will be no different. Indeed, the base model will be powered by a four-cylinder turbo engine offering 241 horsepower which is matted to a seven-speed automatic transmission. 4Matic models will get a nine-speed automatic transmission.
A 362-horsepower V6 engine will power the C 450 AMG while the C 63 AMG will get a 4.0-liter V8 that delivers 469 horsepower. If that’s not enough, why not go for the C 63 AMG S that has the same engine, but tuned to 503 horsepower!
