Three major models unveiled by Mercedes-Benz at the Geneva Motor Show
March 31 2017,
Mercedes-Benz unveiled three equally important and spectacular models at the last Geneva International Auto Show that took place a few weeks ago. In addition to unveiling a new version of a redesigned lineup, the German manufacturer has also presented a concept that is both incredibly fast and eco-friendly as well as a new, very extravagant version of the legendary G-Class.
Let's take a closer look at what Mercedes-Benz had in store for us at the Geneva Motor Show.
Mercedes-AMG GT Concept
With the Mercedes-AMG GT Concept, Mercedes-Benz and its AMG high-performance division are targeting a certain Porsche Panamera. To do this, the AMG GT Concept features sleek lines and a particularly elegant design that does not seem very far off from being production-ready. But what impresses most is the engine that is under the hood. Indeed, we are talking about a hybrid engine that develops 800 horsepower. The engine in question takes several elements from Formula 1.
More importantly, the Mercedes-AMG GT Concept is the first hybrid model to come out of the AMG lab. Moreover, AMG used the GT concept to officially launch a new range of hybrid AMG models which will be called EQ Power +. More models are sure to come out soon.
Mercedes-Benz E Class Cabriolet
After the sedan last year and more recently the coupe version, it was time for the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet to enter the market. Like the other versions of the new-generation E-Class, the cabriolet model is packed with state-of-the-art safety technologies and a very modern and luxurious interior. According to Mercedes-Benz, it will be possible to remove the roof in only 20 seconds at speeds of up to 50 km/h, and the car will also benefit from very popular technologies like the famous AirScarf system which will allow E-Classe owners to ride with the roof down even if its cold outside.
Mercedes-Maybach G 650 Landaulet
To cap the Geneva Motor Show, Mercedes presented one of the most impressive vehicles to ever to see the day, the Mercedes-Benz G 650 Landaulet, which incidentally is the most expensive SUV in the world with an estimated starting price of over $ 500,000. Only 99 units will be built, and there is a good chance that they will soon be all sold out. A turbocharged V12 engine is found under the hood.
