Three safety features in the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLB that help it stand out
June 10 2022,
The 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLB is equipped with a host of advanced safety features that make it stand out from its competition. Here are three of them.
The Active Brake Assist
The 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLB comes standard with the Active Brake Assist, a system that uses a radar sensor to detect when it is approaching too quickly from another vehicle or a pedestrian. When it detects a collision is about to happen, it warns the driver and then adjusts the brake pressure in order to avoid the accident even if the brake pedal is not pushed enough. If the driver doesn’t react, the system can also take full control of the braking and bring the GLB to a stop quickly to avoid the obstacle or at least reduce the force of the impact, depending on the speed of the vehicle when braking began.
The Attention Assist
The 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQB is equipped with the Attention Assist system, a Mercedes innovation which monitors close to 70 parameters to determine the level of attention of the driver. This system can warn drivers who are getting drowsy by using audible and visual warnings in order to prevent them from falling asleep behind the wheel and risk causing an accident.
The Crosswind Assist
The 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLB benefits from the Crosswind Assist to offer a safer and more stable driving experience when the wind picks up. Due to their height, crossovers are generally more affected by crosswinds than sedans. This system gently applies the brakes on one side of the GLB when it detects the wind trying to blow it off course, which helps the driver keep the vehicle in a straight line. This is also useful when driving through the turbulence created by passing trucks on the highway, which have a tendency to push cars away from them to the side of the road.
